SURA Membership

SURA members share a common interest in exploring and developing ways to advance science and to strengthen their institutions and organizations through collaborative efforts. SURA seeks as new members institutions and organizations that share these interests.

SURA provides for three categories of membership: Standard Member, Corporate Member, and Affiliate Member.

Application for Membership. Applicants for Standard Membership and Gold Corporate Membership may be nominated by any group of three Standard and/or Gold Corporate Members or may file a written request for Membership with the Secretary of the Corporation using the application form. Applicants for Silver Corporate Membership, Small Business Membership, and Affiliate Membership should file a written request for such Membership with the Secretary of the Corporation using the application form.

Admission of Members. Applicants for Standard Membership or Gold Corporate Membership will be considered and admitted by the SURA Council of Presidents. The Council will consider membership applicants at its annual meeting. Applicants for Silver Corporate Membership, Small Business Membership, or Affiliate Membership will be considered and admitted by the SURA Board of Trustees. The Board will consider applicants at its Spring and Fall meetings.

Membership dues. The SURA Board of Trustees has set the membership dues, effective January 1, 2009 as:

• Standard Membership: Initiation Fee of $10,000. Annual Fee of $4,000 (effective January 1, 2012)
• Gold Corporate Membership: Initiation Fee of $10,000. Annual Fee of $6,000.
• Silver Corporate Membership: Initiation Fee of $5,000. Annual Fee of $3,000.
• Small Business Membership: Initiation Fee of $2,500. Annual Fee of $1,000.
• Affiliate Membership. Initiation Fee of $2,500. Annual Fee of $1,000.
