This message is being sent to formally announce the availability of
some indepth technical material focused on the ITU H.323 standard.
Portions of this material have been available for some time but the
full collection has just recently been completed.

As a result of ViDe's participation in last October's "Implementing
H.323" in Paris, France, almost all of the material from that
conference is available for streaming in Real, with accompanying
electronic presentations. This conference drew wide international
participation from those in key roles in relevant standards bodies
(ITU and IETF) as well as many developers of H.323 compliant
products. Mary Fran Yafchak, SURA IT Program Coordinator and also a
ViDe member, presented "H.323 & Global Deployment: Insights from the
    R&E Community".

This content is available through the Outreach section of the ViDe
Web site (http://www.vide.net) or directly at the following URL:

SURA and ViDe wish to acknowledge the following contributions in
preserving this valuable content and making it freely available:

    * Upperside Training (http://www.upperside.fr) produced the
"Implementing H.323" conference. The conference was professionally
developed and provided an educational forum for both presenters and
participants. In addition to providing the opportunity to record the
material, Upperside faciliated communication between SURA and all
presenters. In particular, the assistance of Chantal Ladouce and Remi
Scavenius was invaluable. Thank you, Upperside!

    * Pat Watson and John Drewry, videographers from the University of
Tennessee, collaborated with SURA to travel to Paris and record the
conference proceedings. Following that, Pat and John spent the many
hours necessary to encode and produce the content for Web
dissemnination. Thank you, Pat and John, for contributing both your
expertise and your time, and thanks to the University of Tennessee
for being supportive of their efforts.

    * RADVision (http://www.radvision.com) was a sponsor of the
"Implementing H.323" conference and is also a long standing research
partner and recognized "friend of R&E". RADVision covered travel
expenses for the videographers' attendance at the conference and also
set the example for collaboration by early agreement to release the
material from all the RADVision presentations. We thank the entire
RADVision conference team - too many to mention! - as well as Avi
Moyal who did not attend the conference but was instrumental in
    arranging for RADVision support.
