To My Friends and Colleagues --
By now some of you have heard of my decision to leave Georgia Tech to
accept the position of Chief Information Officer at the University of Notre
Dame. I want you all to know how fulfilling it has been to serve along
with you on the SURA IT Committee over the past several years. It has
afforded me the opportunity to work closely with some of the most brilliant
people in the country, and I know I will miss the strong sense of community
and collaboration that marks the SURA region as perhaps unique in the
entire country.
I will be reporting to Notre Dame on August 1st. In the meantime, I will
do my best to support the efforts of the IT Committee, especially the
Regional Infrastructure Initiative, through the transition to a new
committee chair, who I'm hopeful will be identified by the time of the July
IT Committee meeting.
