SURA is exploring the development of practical training workshops in middleware deployment that would leverage the experience and knowledge being gained in the NSF Middleware Initiative (NMI) Integration Testbed. The development and offering of a prototype workshop is being supported through the NSF PACS (Partnership for Advanced Computational Science) Program. Participating content experts include representatives from NMI Testbed sites at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of Florida, Georgia State University, and members of the NMI-EDIT project team.

This first workshop, "Deploying an Enterprise Directory and Directory-Enabled Applications," will be offered in Summer 2003 to early adopters from the Council of Independent Colleges and the EDUCAUSE AN-MSI project. The early posting of material from this workshop is provided to facilitate feedback from these communities.
