Mary Fran Yafchak, SURA IT Program Coordinator, was invited to speak at a recent conference, "Implementing H.323", in Paris, France, October 10 - 13, 2000. The conference drew wide international participation from those in key roles in relevant standards bodies (ITU and IETF) as well as many developers of H.323 compliant products. Ms. Yafchak's presentation, "H.323 & Global Deployment: Insights from the R&E Community" highlighted both ViDeNet and the SURA-sponsored LSVNP (Large Scale Video Network Prototype) as important examples of how the Internet 2/R&E community views and uses H.323.
Videographers from the University of Tennessee collaborated with SURA to record the conference proceedings which will be available to SURA for educational purposes. SURA, the University of Tennessee, and ViDe are coordinating to make this information available to the research and education community via the Web over the commodity Internet and Internet2. For more information, contact Mary Fran Yafchak, maryfran@sura.org.
