Click here for Detailed instructions about current SURAgrid User Management and the SURAgrid PKI Bridge Certification Authority. |
The intent of SURAgrid is to exemplify the collaborative, multi-institutional and heterogeneous environment that is characteristic of higher education and research. The implementation of technologies and policies for authentication (authN) and authorization (authZ) between autonomous organizations is an ongoing topic of research in grid development and a key area of investigation for SURAgrid. In this, SURAgrid is providing participants with the opportunity to explore how local authentication solutions can be extended to provide access to grid resources within and beyond the campus, and helping to foster the development of a working higher education grid environment that can be inter-connected to an emerging global middleware infrastructure. Initial concepts for SURAgrid authN/authZ were documented as part of the NMI Integration Testbed case study series: Authentication & Authorization in SURAgrid: Concepts and Technologies (May 2005) For most the current status of SURAgrid authN/authZ, contact Mary Fran Yafchak or Jim Jokl.
